How to use Google Meet
/Google Meet, a video conferencing platform has recently accounted that they are making their service free to use and will be amiable for anyone who has a gmail account. The great news is that you don’t have to do anything to get the app, it will automatically show within gmail. This quick guide will show you how to use Google Meet for your next video chat.
Use Meet with Gmail
The new “Meet” option will show in the left column, below your inbox categories. If the option doesn’t show, click/tap on meet.google.com to add it.
To start a video chat, click on “Start a meeting”.
To join an existing video chat, click on “Join a meeting”
After clicking an option, a new window will open showing how your video will be displayed to others.
The meeting link is located under the “Meeting ready” section. You can copy this link and send it to your participants.
When ready, click on “Join now” to start the meeting.
After clicking on “Join now”, a pop-up window will show giving you a chance to send the invite to your friends. Once ready, close this pop up to start the meeting.
When a friend wants to join, you will be given the option to “Admit” or “Deny Entry”.
Use Meet with Google Calendar
You can also access Meet using the Google Calendar.
When you schedule a meeting you will now see the option “Add Google Meet video conferencing.”
As you can imagine, the process is quite easy.
Once you click on the button, you will be able to copy the link for the meeting and add guests. You can also search via email
Participants will receive the link once you have sent it.
Use Meet on mobile devices
You can use your mobile device to access Google Meet
First download the Google Meet app from the respective App Store
You will see the same options found within gmail and the google calendar
