Here’s how you can check the time left until your laptop is fully charged

OS X and Windows 10 can easily show you how much time is left until your laptop’s battery is fully charged. In this article we’ll cover off the simple steps to check the estimated time.

Mac OS X

On a MacBook, you can click the Battery icon in the Menu Bar to check the estimated time remaining until the battery is 100% charged. As you clicked the icon instead of hovering over it, it will keep the time displayed until you click on something else. Alternatively, you can go to System Preferences and click on Energy Saver, to see the charge percentage and estimated time until full. 

Windows 10

With a Windows 10 Laptop, you can check the time remaining by moving the mouse over the Battery icon found in the System Tray. This will only keep the time displayed for a few seconds. If you want to keep an eye on the time remaining, without having to constantly clicking the Battery icon every few seconds, you can do so by going to Setting, and clicking on Battery Saver. 

On Battery Power

When you’re running on battery power, you can keep an eye on the remaining time until the laptop needs to be charged on both OS X and Windows 10 by doing the exact instructions above, as both will instantly switch when it is not being charged. 

Bonus

If you however need your laptop charged faster, close the lid and turn the screen off, or alternatively shut down the computer.
