When you need to troubleshoot or save battery life, you may need to restart/shut down your iPhone 13. This quick guide will show you how to restart/shut down for all iPhone 13 models.

Turn off Using Buttons

The iPhone 13 can be turned off by using 2 buttons found on either side of the phone. To turn off the phone, press and hold the volume up (left side) and the large side button (right side).

Hold both buttons until the “Slide to Power Off” appears. Slide your finger over the prompt and the phone will turn off. You can turn the iPhone back on by holding the side button until the Apple logo appears.

Turn off Using Settings

An alternative option you can use without buttons is to use the settings app. First open the settings app (grey gear icon) > tap General > Scroll down to the bottom of the list and tap Shut Down. After tapping on Shut down you will see “Slide to power off”, follow the prompt and the iPhone will shut down.

What About Troubleshooting?

If you’re attempting to fix a problem by troubleshooting your iPhone using the shut down and restart, its best to wait 30 seconds before turning the iPhone back on. You can turn the iPhone back on by holding the side button (large button on right side of iPhone) and hold until the Apple logo shows.
