4 tips for Android phones

Android

Have you just recently bought yourself an Android Smartphone, considering buying one, or just wanting to find out how to make the most out of your phone? We are going to highlight 4 of the most useful features on these smart phones, helping you get the most out of your phone.

Google Now, the Personal Assistant

Google Now happens to be a personal assistant built into more recent Android smart phones. It provides information automatically based on where you are, and what you are searching for. This makes it incredibly useful, as you get updates as are needed, such as when will the next train arrive (this one in particular works at a train station). It also works as a reminder, letting you know when important events are about to take place. In order to enable Google Now, open the “Google Search” and go to settings, and switch the “Google Now” to on.

Take a Screenshot

A screenshot is an image of what happens to currently be on the Smartphone screen. You can take one by holding down the “Standby button” and the “Volume down” button at the same time. If successful, you will get a notification saying “Screenshot captured”. Some protected content may not however be captured, such as video play within certain apps. You can find the photo in the “Gallery” under “Screenshots”.

Use your voice to activate your phone

It is now possible to use your voice to activate the Android Smartphone, just by saying one phrase “OK Google”. In order to do this, head to the “Google Now” page, go to “Settings”, then “Voice” and turn “OK Google” on. Just a heads up, Google does record what is said after stating this command in order to improve the phone’s voice recognition software.

Get a refund on the App you just bought

Within the Android’s Google play store, it is possible to buy an app and if you don’t like it get a refund for it. The catch is that you only have 2 hours from when you buy it in order to get this refund. Give the app a try, and if you don’t like it, you can get a refund by going back to the product page from where the app came from, you should see a refund option. Once again, this will only last for 2 hours, so you need to make a quick decision about this.
