Apple has announced a new addition in its line of notebooks, the New Macbook. This computer has been designed to be super portable while still providing the power you need for day to day computing. This Model comes with being only 13.1mm thin, weighing 2lb, and with a 12 inch Retina (high resolution) Display.

What is unique about this Macbook is that it is made entirely out of metal and designed in such a way that no fan is needed, making it incredibly quiet. To make the New Macbook more portable Apple had opted to use a new type of USB called USB – C. It’s a combination port that lets you charge the laptop, transfer data and connect to a second screen.

Another new feature is the Force Touch trackpad, designed to tell the New Macbook what you want to do based on how hard you press. It responds with feedback that can be felt by the user, making the experience more personal.

Apple has announced the release date and the price of the New Macbook. The product is available for purchase on April 10, and is already able for preorder. The New Macbook comes in 3 different colors, being Silver, Gold and Space Grey.

There are 2 price options, starting at $1299 USD and going up to $1599 USD. The difference in price is due to the storage and processing power that comes with the respective model. You can check your local Apple website to see the accurate pricing for your country.

With up to 9 hours of battery life, this is certainly a model to consider if you are contemplating to replace your computer if you are looking for an easy to use machine that is very portable.

One consideration to make is that the USB – C is very, very new to the market and there are not a lot of devices that can connect with it out of the box. Apple sells adaptors to allow you to connect with older technology however it is at an additional cost.
