Google App Home Screen Widget
In iOS 14, you can add Widgets (shortcut apps) to your home screen, so that you can access the information you need more quickly. If you are a frequent user of the Google App, an excellent app to pull information from webpages, articles, and just about everything else, can now be done directly from your home screen. Here is how.
Google Widget Benefits
Google offers 2 shortcut widgets, a quick search bar, and an additional search bar. The quick search will let you search Google, whilst the additional search adds 3 extra options, being Lens (allowing you to search for what you see on your camera), Voice (allowing you to talk instead of typing) and Incognito (Private search). First ensure you are on the current iOS version, and have the Google App installed.
Setting up Google Widget
Head to your iPhone/iPad home screen.
On the home screen, press and hold until the apps begin to move, and the + button appears in the upper left corner.
Tap on the + icon to bring up the Widget Gallery.
Search for Google app and tap on it.
Move left/right to select the Widget size (Quick Search/Advanced Search).
Tap on Add Widget, determine where you want to have it on your device, and tap on Done.
