Top iPadOS features

Have you purchased a new iPad or have recently updated your device to iPadOS? If so, these are the best new features that come with iPadOS.

New Home Screen

iPadOS brings a refreshed home screen with a new design, allowing you to have more apps on the screen. A new panel on the left side has been added which will contain your shortcuts. The home screen looks nearer as the apps are now closer to each other.

Navigate from the Dock

The Dock is a navigation bar for launching apps and accessing multitasking options within iPadOS. To organise the dock, touch and hold the app until the rearrange option appears. You can drag the app to the bottom of the screen bar, which will store it in the Dock. The Dock is always visible on the home screens and can be brought up when hidden with a quick swipe up from the bottom of the display.

Run apps in Split View

The Dock allows you to enable Split View: With one app on screen, tap and drag another app icon to the left or the right-hand edge of the display, then use the black bar in between the two apps to decide what sort of screen split you want to have. Certain apps, including Notes, Mail and Safari, now support multiple windows. It comes in handy when trying to use 2 safari tabs at the same time.

Make some folders in the Files app

iPadOS 13 allows customized folders within the Files app, which will let you organise your files effectively. To make a new folder, hold your finger down on a blank space within the Files app. When the prompt comes, tap on new folder. There are also some improvements within the files app, such as being able to scan documents.
